The concept of the project has manifested three types of sensation. By the beautiful landscape and special materials such as the selection of black stone with golden line design, adamantine spar in white color, black mica crystal are for the tactile sensation and the sense of sight. Moreover, the use of Japanese cypress has made the space fresh and with a pleasant smell which has created a pure domain for the client.

The Living in Mist project, designed by Chang-Ming Tseng, is a stunning example of modern residential design that seamlessly blends nature and contemporary aesthetics. Inspired by the concept of fluidity and the connection to nature, this design creates a unique living space that is both visually appealing and functional.

The designer has utilized various materials to bring the essence of nature into the house. The corridor leading to the public area features wooden flooring, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a walk in the woods. The public space is open and adorned with different materials, expressing a sense of freedom and openness. The private space includes two bathrooms that have been opened up, with Japanese cypress collaged on the ceiling and grey stone flooring, creating a serene and tranquil environment.

Special attention has been given to the choice of materials in this design. The designer has incorporated black stone with golden line design, adamantine spar in white color, semi-precious stone by granite with the ingredients of quartz stone in azure and black mica crystal, wood shutter, walnut wood, dekton with black pattern, grey lambskin, Japanese cypress, rose gold iron bar, glass, lattice, special paint, the curtain in yarn fabric, and cotton fabric. These materials not only enhance the visual appeal of the space but also contribute to a comfortable and luxurious living experience.

The design of the space is based on its inherent advantages, with a focus on expressing the materials and highlighting the craftsmanship. The use of mirrors in the space creates an illusion of a larger area, while the incorporation of rose gold bars adds a touch of elegance and modernity. The designer has also taken into consideration the client's needs and preferences, resulting in a bespoke kitchen and a 330-square-meter modern house that exudes simplicity and refinement.

To ensure a seamless flow throughout the space, the designer has carefully planned the configuration of the rooms. The collage of slabs and recessed pointing creates a sense of consistency and harmony. The space is equipped with a dehumidifier for the entire room, and low formaldehyde building materials have been used to ensure the safety and well-being of the occupants.

The Living in Mist project was completed in October 2020 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The design was inspired by the unique location of the building, nestled between mountains and the sea. The presence of mist in the area, even on sunny days, inspired the designer to incorporate the landscape into the house, creating a space that harmoniously coexists with nature.

Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the designer overcame difficulties in procuring materials and ensured the timely completion of the project. The result is a design that showcases the beauty of nature, with ample natural light and a color palette that reflects the purity of the surrounding environment.

The Living in Mist project by Chang-Ming Tseng has been recognized for its exceptional design and has been awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award is a testament to the innovative and practical nature of the design, as well as its contribution to creating a better world.
